Ethan Gilmour

President, Professional Licensed Surveyor

Ethan is founder and president of Holt Gilmour Survey Associates. He is integrally involved with every project undertaken by the company. Ethan is a proud father of two and treasures the time he gets to spend with his family. Ethan came to surveying after a successful professional cycling career. He has been a national champion and competed internationally for the US National Team. Ethan trained under Bob Holt's expert guidance, learning the technical and legal aspects of surveying first hand from day one. Ethan is active in the Vermont Society of Land Surveyors and the VSLS Education Foundation. He is passionate about the profession and strives to make that evident through the company's work for its clients.

Bob Holt

Founding Surveyor, Professional Licensed Surveyor

Bob has been a licensed surveyor in the state of Vermont for over three decades. He is a proud grandfather, taking every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. Bob is a great steward and teacher of the profession, supporting surveyors in training and contributing to the Vermont Society of Land Surveyors. Bob played a key role in developing the current Vermont surveying standards. He began his career in Denver, Colorado and founded Holt Survey Associates in Woodstock, Vermont in 1996. Bob has successfully provided boundary conflict consultation and expert testimony throughout his career. Bob is also an avid curler and a founding member of the Upper Valley Curling Club.

Aaron Moulton

Professional Surveyor

Aaron is a masterful leader in the field, drawing from his extensive background as a lifelong woodsman. He is involved in all aspects of survey at HGSA: land records research, recovery of physical evidence, field measurement, and drafting. Excelling in all of these areas makes Aaron instrumental in completing projects and exceeding client expectations. Aaron is a dedicated father of three. He loves to share his passion for the outdoors with his family, including his talents as a snowboarder.

Gayle Burchard

Professional Licensed Surveyor

Gayle is licensed in Vermont and New Hampshire. She has served as the President of the Vermont Society of Land Surveyors and the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association. Gayle is currently a Director for the National Society of Professional Surveyors. Gayle holds a B.S. from the University of Wyoming and studied wetland and soil sciences at the University of New Hampshire. Gayle is an avid outdoorswoman who is passionate about animals, including her beloved golden retrievers. Gayle’s father was a well respected professional surveyor, and Gayle carries on this strong family tradition.

Derek DeMas

Professional Surveyor

Derek has A.A.S degrees in Surveying Technology and Forestry from Paul Smith’s College and a B.S. degree in Surveying Technology from Michigan Technological University. Coupled with 18 years of surveying field and office experience working in Michigan, New Jersey, and Vermont, he has built a strong foundation as a Project Surveyor to meet the needs of clients. In addition to residential boundary and topographic surveying, he has had extensive exposure to commercial, industrial, transportation, and environmental projects, working with clients at the federal, state, and local levels. Past projects include Superfund site environmental mapping, industrial site compliance mapping for state and federal agencies, containment basin volume calculations, aerial control surveys, deformation monitoring, pre and post construction mapping, and construction layout QA/QC. He is certified OSHA: 40 Hour (HAZWOPER), 8 hr refresher, and Supervisor 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4); T.W.I.C. U.S. Government card holder; NCEES L.S.I.T.; and holds various Oil and Chemical Facility site specific training as well as various Utility/Highway/Railway contractor safety training.
